Meet the Speaker: Théodora Gomis, Founder, Mon Village Caio

We are delighted that Théodora will be speaking in Stockholm this May as part of our Wellbeing at Work Summit Europe.

We caught up with her to find out how she’s feeling in the run up to the summit.

Hi Théodora, we are thrilled you will be speaking at our Wellbeing at Work Summit Europe in May. Our first and most important question is, how are you doing today?

I am doing really good thanks. Excited and happy about the coming summit.

As a leader based in the region, what are the main challenges you are facing when it comes to employee wellbeing?

Finding strategies to maintain a good work life balance. Supporting mental health and work life balance is always a challenge especially in light of recent global events.

What strategies have you seen developing over the past 6 months, both internally and externally, that is moving the dial on wellbeing in the workplace?

A more holistic approach to employee well being as a fundamental aspect of they business strategy –

Internally:

  • Flexible work arrangements. working from home. leaving earlier
  • Mental health support and counselling, mindfulness training
  • Wellness initiative, gym memberships or fitness yoga session at the workplace
  • Healthy snacks

Externally:

  • Industry collaborations with for example non profits organisations and promoting employee well being across different platforms
  • Policies that supports and promotes employees well being

Why is employee wellbeing so important to you personally?

Employee wellbeing is personally important to me because I believe that happy and healthy employees are the cornerstone of any successful organisation.  We have to lead with emotional intelligence to avoid burnout which happens a lot when we don’t take care of employees.

What are you most looking forward to about the Summit in May?

I am looking forward to connecting with fellow professionals, and learning about innovative strategies to enhance employee wellbeing in the workplace.

Tell us, what is your vision for the future workplace, in terms of engagement, health and wellbeing?

To create and inclusive environments where employees feel valued and supported in their personal and professional life.

What areas do you think employers should be focused on over the next 12 months?

Mental support, more inclusive workplace, diversity, work arrangements flexibility for new parents or parents of young children. Parents on parental leave

How has your organization been leading the way?

At Mon Village Caîo, we lead by prioritising the wellbeing of parents through flexible work arrangements, parental support programs, and a family-friendly culture. We provide resources such as child care assistance and make sure that parents feel supported in both their professional and personal lives. Our commitment to parental well being is at the core of our foundation.
