We are delighted that Susie will be speaking in Hong Kong as part of our Wellbeing at Work Summit Asia this April. We caught up with her to see how she’s feeling in the runup to the event.
Hi Susie we are thrilled that you will be joining us at the Wellbeing at Work Summit Asia in April. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts in the runup to the summit.
As a leader based in the region, what are the main challenges you are facing when it comes to employee wellbeing and mental health?
Across the Asia Pacific region, addressing specific mental health needs and challenges means taking a somewhat unique approach – one that embraces all dimensions and cultures across markets. This means a tailored approach is needed to ensure that all employees feel safe and supported across multiple cultures.
What strategies have you seen developing over the past 6 months, both internally and externally, that are moving the dial on wellbeing in the workplace?
Creating safe spaces for employees to share their thoughts and concerns is critical for any employee wellbeing program to be successful. Topics should never be a “finger in the wind” approach – they need to come from the employees themselves.
Why is employee wellbeing so important to you personally?
In today’s world, successful organisations are the ones that recognise the corelation between happy and supported employees and the bottom line – making sure that workplaces embrace individualism and cultures is critical everywhere in the world, and most especially in the complex cultures that make up the Asia Pacific region. I am passionate about ensuring inclusive actions lead to business impact.
