Mental health UK think-tank makes significant progress

Fantastic progress on developing a framework for employers

In November 2021 at The Soke in London, we hosted our inaugural mental health think-tank and brought together a passionate group of C-Suite leaders from employers to build a detailed framework for purchasing mental health services.

In the last 2-3 years, there has been an explosion of services on offer to employers and it has become a minefield. Do any of these products or services make a difference to the health and wellbeing of employees? How can we measure their success? Are employers spending significant budget on tick-box exercises or are we truly improving the situation? These were some of the big questions that we discussed over a four-hour meeting with outstanding results.

Now is the time to ensure our budgets are being spent wisely and most importantly, actually having an impact.

MENTAL HEALTH THINK TANK ATTENDEE

We are now in the process of putting together a draft framework that will be shared with our leadership think-tank attendance and then this will be an invaluable tool for purchasing departments across the world so employers know their budgets are being spent in the right places to make a true impact on the health and wellbeing of their employees.

A maturing industry

As we move to the next stage of the global pandemic, making the wellbeing and mental health of our employees a strategic priority must be top of the agenda for organisations. However, we must ensure that the products and services we are providing are having a positive impact, just like you would have in any other services industry. Now is the time to move away from sporadic initiatives and have a truly embedded strategy across the whole business and the Wellbeing at Work Mental Health Framework will help deliver this for procurement departments across the world.
