We caught up with her to find out how she’s feeling in the run up to the summit.
Hi Anna, we are thrilled you will be speaking at our Wellbeing at Work Summit Europe in May. Our first and most important question is, how are you doing today?
Thank you very much. I am doing well, however in a quite intense period at work with many global initiatives being implemented and pitched at the moment.
As a leader based in the region, what are the main challenges you are facing when it comes to employee wellbeing?
At challenging times with cost pressure for employers, inflation and cost increases in many countries, uncertainty and instability, I see sometimes the long term approach being abandoned for a short term approach, which puts wellbeing initiatives and outcomes at risks, since we know it takes investment and endurance to see the outcomes sometimes. It is also sometimes challenging to find approaches that is relevant to all workforce, due to the diverse individual needs, and as a corporate it is challenging to offer everything, even if we want to support each individual.
What strategies have you seen developing over the past 6 months, both internally and externally, that is moving the dial on wellbeing in the workplace?
We speak much more about D&I, we see increased awareness of individual needs and the need to focus on mental health.
Why is employee wellbeing so important to you personally?
I strongly believe in work-life balance, that we should be able to thrive both at work and personally, and with work being such a material part of people’s lives, wellbeing must be a priority for companies. I find it extremely rewarding to be part of a team that is delivering wellbeing initiatives to employees, and to ensure all workforce have access to similar support.
What are you most looking forward to about the Summit in May?
I really look forward to a full day of inspiring sessions, to meet and connect with peers and building a stronger network.
Tell us, what is your vision for the future workplace, in terms of engagement, health and wellbeing?
My vision is that workplace of the future enables people to thrive, and having access to flexibility and choice to make sure work and life can be managed in a way that supports both business and personal life. I also hope that we are better equipped to work preventative to improve people’s health, both physical and mental, and that support is available for anyone in need.
What areas do you think employers should be focused on over the next 12 months?
I think employers should be focused on finding ways to support workforce diverse needs, implement flexibility and choice, and have a holistic long-term approach to managing this.
How has your organisation been leading the way?
I will tell you all in my session May 16 😊
Anna will be speaking in Stockholm at the Wellbeing at Work Summit Europe which takes place live and in-person in Zurich, Amsterdam and Stockholm. Further details on the Summit can be found here.
