We are delighted that Simone will be speaking in Zurich as part of our European Summit. We caught up with her to find out how she’s feeling in the runup to the event.
Hi Simone, We are thrilled that you will be speaking at the Wellbeing at Work Europe Summit next week. Our first and most important question is, how are you doing today?
I am doing great, thank you ☺
As a leader based in the region, what are the main challenges you are facing when it comes to employee wellbeing and mental health?
Based on what I’ve observed in the market overall and in various companies so far, I feel that the focus on this topic could be a bit more systematic and continuous – especially in busy or challenging times of uncertainty.
What strategies have you seen developing over the past 6 months, both internally and externally, that are moving the dial on wellbeing in the workplace?
The ‘rise of awareness around neurodiversity’ – both internally as well as externally – is what stands out to me most. Affected people are starting to speak up and not shy away from sharing their neurodivergence with their peers. And companies start to foster the dialogue around this crucial topic which is affecting such a big part of everyone’s workforce.
Why is employee wellbeing so important to you personally?
I was always really inspired about the connectedness between resilience, purpose, values, being authentic and feeling a sense of belonging. But there were two wellbeing related life events that completely transformed who I am today – and made me even more passionate to talk, connect and reflect about/on this topic going forward: 1) My first pregnancy which was far very from easy and smooth 2) My mum’s cancer disease which started right after I gave birth with my daughter – and ended with her death only a couple of months later, shortly after I returned from maternity leave.
Simone will be speaking in Zurich at the Wellbeing at Work Summit Europe which takes place in Zurich on 13th May and in Amsterdam on 15th May. Further details on the Summit and tickets can be found here.
