Hi Shruti we are thrilled that you will be joining us at the Wellbeing at Work Summit Asia in April. Our first and most important question is, how are you doing today?
I’m doing well, ready to be inspired by the speakers and guests today. It is always refreshing and grounding to be in this yearly summit focussing on all things Wellbeing.
As a leader based in the region, what are the main challenges you are facing when it comes to employee wellbeing and mental health?
Stress levels of those under 35 seem to be rising significantly up which has a lot of ramifications on work and life.
What strategies have you seen developing over the past 6 months, both internally and externally, that are moving the dial on wellbeing in the workplace?
Flexibility helps but its not just in the last 6 months. The pandemic enabled it to become minimum table stakes. Individualizing the workplace demands to match the needs of the younger workforce as well.
Why is employee wellbeing so important to you personally?
It is the very foundation of who we are, what we do and what we aim for.
What impact is AI having in your organisation and how are you managing that?
It’s rapidly transforming the way we work. We are working towards becoming an AI first organisation where we have access to various AI tools to see through trial and error what is the best operating model for us.
Other than AI, are there any challenges that you are seeing for the first time and how are you addressing them?
The evolving role of the manager. There is a clear need to redesign the role and what are the job demands. What worked for so long wont take us into the future.
What areas do you think employers should be focused on over the next 12 months?
Re-imaging their workplaces for the next decade.
