Hi Christy, we are thrilled that you will be speaking at the Wellbeing at Work US Summit Mid-West in May. Our first and most important question is, how are you doing today?
Thanks for asking – I’m good.
As a leader based in the region, what are the main challenges you are facing when it comes to employee wellbeing and mental health?
Reducing the stigma, capacity, affordable and available options, personalization
What strategies have you seen developing over the past 6 months, both internally and externally, that are moving the dial on wellbeing in the workplace?
Rolled out an enhanced EAP program, focused mostly on mental health
Wellness program – different offerings on broader wellbeing
Why is employee wellbeing so important to you personally?
Generally care for employees. It also has a big impact on productivity, engagement and overall employee experience.
What impact is AI having in your organization and how are you managing that?
Gains in productivity and efficiency. Creating some uncertainty re: the impact on roles and individuals; communicate – communicate and communicate
Other than AI, are there any challenges that you are seeing for the first time and how are you addressing them?
DEI changes in political landscape and impact internally on the wellbeing of certain employees; standing on our values
What areas do you think employers should be focused on over the next 12 months?
Align your statements to your actions – are employees your number one asset? Live into it
Do you feel that investment in employee wellbeing in the region is increasing or decreasing and is that a direct reflection on HR leaders’ increasing ability to demonstrate effective returns of their strategies to leadership?
Not always easier to show direct ROI for all wellbeing programs/incentives. With market changes, I unclear how the overall investment would shape although I suspect it may not increase.
How has your organization been leading the way?
Creating a culture that focuses on the employee experience and affiliation with our organization.
